An art critique is an evaluation of a work of art, aimed at assessing the artist's success in conveying their intended message or meaning. While artistic taste is subjective, there are certain characteristics of artwork that can be analyzed to provide a measure of its quality and effectiveness.

Art criticism is often seen as an art form in itself, with each critique approaching a work of art in a unique way. However, there are established guidelines and protocols for critiquing art that help to structure the evaluation process.

Have you ever been to an art museum and wished someone had given you a list of descriptive words to critique art? You're not alone in wanting to have a deeper understanding of art. Many people wish they knew more about it. So, here are some words that can help you be more art-savvy the next time you visit the museum.
